“This is the second acrylic Rafi painted. The first, an angular cow, he destroyed. There is a sensual disorder in the couple. Their stylized eyes and enlarged hands and feet are typical of his later work. Although he was not fond of the painting, I insisted on keeping it.  He agreed, but only if I’d hang it out of sight in an upstairs hallway.”
