“In 1962, Rafi was not painting full-time, but he did this portrait of me for my parents, shortly after we were married. It was originaly on a large stretch and remained unfinished, so he cut it down, framed it and gave it to them. Mother loved it, but remarked that he should have depicted me with eyes open.”
